About Me

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in NC. I know that raising kids is difficult, that healthy marriages take work and even the strongest individuals need help sometimes. I have over 10 years of experience working with families and individuals and over 20 years with adolescents. During that time I have seen a broad range clients who were experiencing both high and low points in their lives. This experience has taught me that none of us are immune to the stressors of everyday life. I believe that healthy psychotherapy can assist us in finding our own solutions to our own problems- whether those problems are internal or external, personal or relational, and individual or family oriented.

I have served in the Protestant church for over 20 years and during that time I have incorporated my beliefs into my counseling. I believe that we all deserve grace and forgiveness. I believe that healing begins with forgiveness-either ourselves, or with other people. As a Christian counselor, I believe that we find examples in scripture that can lead to a rich and fulfilling life.

As a systemic therapist, I believe in incorporating all aspects of your life into therapy. Our psychology, biology and social lives all interact to create our world. When we influence one of them, we influence them all. My style of counseling incorporates proven scientific methods along with my own Christian Faith.
