Amy Matelic

About Me

I am a licensed Master’s Social Worker in Michigan with over 20 years of experience working in the field of medicine and social work. I am also a registered yoga teacher and practice meditation for personal wellness. I have worked with clients with a wide range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, mood and thought disturbances. I also helped many people who have experienced legal, family, and financial problems.
My therapeutic style is person centered and relationship based. I believe in treating people with kindness and empathy. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. I believe people have choices and you can choose to take a different path or not.
I will design a treatment plan with a set of SMART goals and objectives for you. Simplicity is the key to accomplishing what you are seeking in treatment. My goal is to listen and reflect. I avoid labeling to find out what honors your values. I'm of the Catholic faith and can use prayer as a resource if needed.
I look forward to our journey! Are you ready to start it?
