About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a PhD in Tennessee. I got all my education at the University of Tennessee and am completely a Vol fan (win or lose!!). I have been in the mental health/social service field for 25 years in a variety of job roles: administration, case management, research, crisis work and consulting. I have been counseling using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Solution-Focused counseling in private practice since 2017 working with a variety of issues ranging from anxiety to depression. My primary counseling focus is working with women experiencing emotional stress and struggles as well as families with children having special needs. I enjoy helping clients with life stress and transitions. I provide focused interventions that help you accomplish the goals that are most important to your recovery.
I am a faith based therapist who regularly uses spirituality, biblical references and Christian resources to support work with individuals in therapy. I was raised in a protestant church try live a Christ filled life free of legalism and following the simple motto "Love God, Love Others." I'm open minded and practice a non judgmental approach with all people regardless of spirituality, race, sexual orientation and gender. I welcome individuals who are questioning their faith, seeking understanding of the Bible and desire to incorporate spiritual based discussion in regards to emotions, thoughts and behaviors.
