About Me

Hello! Thank you for looking more closely at my profile. I am grateful that you would like to know more about me as I look forward to meeting you! I am a licensed professional counselor in North Carolina. I have been practicing for 4 years. I have experience working in schools, private practice, and hospital settings. I have experience working with clients inclusive of adolescents, teens, and adults across the lifespan who struggle with issues related to life transitions, relationship issues, and managing symptoms related to anxiety and depression. I also support clients who have endured the effects of trauma, grief and loss, as well as self-harming behaviors and suicide ideation.

My eclectic therapeutic approach to therapy stems from my background and training in humanistic approaches including somatic experiencing, mindfulness techniques, cognitive behavior therapy, person-centered therapy, existential therapy, and narrative therapy. Clients can expect my focus to be on creating and nurturing our relationship. I strive to create warm and genuine therapeutic space where clients feel safe to explore and grow at their own pace.

Reviews

Written by S.H. on Feb 09, 2020 after counseling with Leigh for 2 weeks

Leigh is very easy to talk to. Responds quickly, has a heart for what you are feeling and validates your feelings beautifully. Seems to have a quick insight and is very supportive with encouragement in prayer and a Godly perspective on problems. Leigh has been a blessing and I know the councillor I prayed for!
