Finding the right therapist can be hard. I'd try and provide a positive therapy experience for you through empathy, active listening, non-judgment, and Biblical encouragement. I utilize a Christian-based approach in conjunction with traditional therapies such as CBT and Narrative therapy. I want you to be able to leave each session feeling heard, empowered, and worthy.

I am actively licensed in the United States as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Counseling. I have 12 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked in a wide array of diverse behavioral health settings, including outpatient, residential, community mental health, academic settings, and most recently in a behavioral health hospital and psychiatric emergency department. I have experience working with individuals of all ages and with a variety of diagnoses and stressors, including mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, grief and loss, relationship/family/parenting issues, and even supporting parents of kids and teens with developmental delays and autism, etc. I approach counseling from a Christian perspective, incorporating prayer and Scripture as appropriate.

I utilize a cognitive-behavioral and person-centered approach to therapy, meaning that I aim to help you find your own solutions by examining how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected and affect us in a positive or negative way; however, I strive to create a comfortable, non-judgmental environment through empathy and active listening. I want you to feel in control of what is discussed, what you would like to get out of therapy, and how we approach whatever issues you may be facing. I also aim to help you find the coping skills that will work best for you: this might include how to stop the constant "loop" of negative thoughts often associated with depression and anxiety or identifying ways to gain more social supports or confidence around others.

I had initially been paired with one counselor, after our first meeting I could tell it wasn’t a match. So when looking through my options, I came across Anna. Reading her profile, something just felt right... she has been exactly what I’ve needed. She quickly made me feel comfortable and gave me the opportunity to discuss what I felt were the issues, helped me dig deeper and unload some deep stuff that I was going through, and had been holding on to for a while.
