About Me

Greetings and welcome!

My name is Ashley Smith and I’d like to begin by acknowledging the courage that it takes to seek out therapy. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. It has been a privilege to provide counseling to children, teens, adults, and families for the past 12 years for a variety of different challenges. I’ve helped clients address their depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, mild autism, and much more. I also have an interest in helping to treat perinatal mental health, as well as the unique challenges that have presented themselves related to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The reality of life is that it is HARD! My pastor refers to it as a “morally broken pain machine,” and how true is that! Yes, there are beautiful moments, but the difficult times are very real too. I genuinely love what I do because I get to help people learn how to find ways to make the hard times feel more manageable, and find and create more of the beautiful moments. It truly is an honor to be able to walk alongside someone as they discover how to move toward the Lord’s will in their life! The amazing news is that there is always hope!

I consider myself to be both compassionate and supportive, as well as approachable if you have any additional concerns. My style is client-centered, as I believe it is important to meet you right where you’re at on your journey. I generally also draw from Cognitive Behavioral techniques, as I believe our mind is incredible…incredibly complex yet also malleable. As I said, there is always hope to learn new and better ways to tackle life’s challenges.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and I hope to meet you soon!
