Audrey Johnsen

About Me

Hello and welcome! I am an LCSW based in Colorado with 15 years of experience in higher education at a Christian College (Westmont College) supporting young adults and their mental health as well as in the hospital setting as a medical social worker. I have worked with clients on a range of issues including stress and anxiety management, career challenges or goals, grief and loss, end-of-life and hospice, patients and caregivers journeying through a medical crisis, and relationship issues.

My style is warm and engaging and I desire to develop a trusting relationship to best support you in your mental health and wellness goals. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral and solution -focused therapies in order empower you to determine your goals and solutions towards your healthier future. I am comfortable and fluent in matters of Christian Faith and how your spiritual life is integrated intricately into your mental health and life goals.

I am a Christian person of faith which informs my practice and biblical worldview. I believe that that includes being non-judgmental, warm, and gracious as I support you in your journey. I will not press you to process and include spiritual matters in our work together. However, should you choose to integrate your spiritual life with your mental health and wellness goals, then I would be happy to help incorporate those into your journey towards living an abundant life. I worked at a Christian college with young adults as they wrestled with their faith and explored big questions of who they were and who they wanted to become. I find it a joy to work with people as they seek to live their lives well, in each changing season of life, in light of their faith in God.

It takes a lot of courage to both acknowledge and invite someone into your journey towards mental health wellness. I count that as a privilege and honor. I look forward to supporting your path towards health and wholeness by exploring your past, acknowledging your present, and planning towards your bright future.

You are not alone and I look forward to working with you!
