About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 10 years of experience counseling at-risk children, youth, adults, and families. My areas of special interest are coping with addictions, motivation, self-esteem, confidence building, intimacy-related issues, trauma, depression, mood management, anxiety disorders, parenting, and severe mental illness. I have worked with clients of all ages and creeds on issues across a wide spectrum of life challenges and mental illness- mild depression to schizophrenia.

I am very direct when appropriate and incredibly empathic with served clients. My approach to counseling is cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered and in combination with dialectical behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, mindfulness, trauma-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing to address the needs of served clients. I am a firm believer in client-therapist collaboration as the core to counseling treatment and will work with served clients to develop a plan which addresses their needs. I do not take on clients I do not think I can help. Therefore, I will enter our relationship with optimism about our progress. I look forward to the work and progress we can make together.
