Ben Piper is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Licensed Professional Counselor in Nebraska and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Kansas with a unique skill set refined toward counseling and helping others. His work experience ranges from working in a day treatment center for kids with behavioral disorders providing individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. He has also counseled college aged students with issues around changes and transitions in life, grief, depression, and future planning. Ben and his wife direct the college ministry at their church for the past 5 years and have dealt with a number of issues that college students struggle with. Ben has over 7 years of experience helping clients with depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, child and parent issues and various other mental health and emotional challenges. Ben uses a person-centered approach emphasizing the importance of the therapist/client relationship, along with a cognitive behavioral approach to allow the client to explore the thought patterns related to the challenging emotions and behaviors. His expertise allows clients to develop their own perspective of problem solving and empowers them to make the changes needed in order to accomplish their goals. Ben is married with a 7 year old daughter, a 5 year old son, and 9 month old daughter.

Here is what others have said about Ben:
“He has been very helpful with recommending ways to decrease my anxiety, improving sleep, grieving with recent loss of family members, and recognizing aspects of my life that I am grateful for to decrease focusing on the negatives. His responses are very quick and his check-ins and dialogue have been more beneficial for me than most previous standard therapy sessions that I have had.”

“Ben is a great resource for me and has been a constant support for me. He checks in even when I don’t respond and it means the world to me.”

“Ben is a very good listener. He’s been very helpful and also provided some good strategies to help me. He also incorporates the power of prayer and Christian faith into our sessions, which is very beneficial.”

“Benjamin checks in on me even if I don’t reply right away, or at all. He allows me to text at any time to clear my mind or ask for advice. I find relief in knowing he’s only a text away.”

When I was teamed up with Ben Piper as my counselor, at first I wasn't sure if he was a good fit for me, partly because he was a man (I had requested a woman) and partly because his experience is mostly with kids. However, after my first session with him, I have found him to be positive, responsive, and understanding. I would like to continue meeting with him, because I have appreciated his response to me so far. I look forward to our next session.
