Betsy Petersen

About Me

Hi there! My name is Betsy Petersen and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am a new resident of Idaho after moving from Tennessee, my home state. I received my education from the University of Tennessee and have been working in the mental health field since 2014.

I strive to bring an empathetic and motivated approach to therapy to explore all areas of life that affect the person and their environment. I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Client-Centered Therapy as a starting point, but also integrate other techniques that match clients’ needs, personality, and comfort level. I also believe that our spiritual health plays an important role in our emotional and physical health and that our faith can bring healing. God has a plan for each and everyone of us, even when that plan seems confusing and difficult to manage to where we start losing hope. I would love to explore and help uplift your faith and help you push through any of your current difficulties. I specialize in working with people in all stages of life with a focus on depression, anxiety and stress, female-related issues, grief and loss, self-esteem, trauma, and life transitions.

I understand that reaching out for help can be difficult. Thank you for allowing me to help, and I look forward to working with you!

Betsy is extremely helpful and available to listen to any concerns. She is very open and willing to really understand your feelings. She makes you feel comfortable to speak about anything and that is so important in a counselor!

She is very nice and considerate of your feelings, no matter how insignificant you may think it is. Always willing to help and talk about what’s going on.
