I received my Bachelors in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Christian Studies at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and my Masters in Clinical Psychology at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. I then acquired my LPC while working at a Behavioral Health Hospital and am currently over the counseling department for a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Shelter. While working at the Behavioral Hospital I served both inpatient and outpatient clients with a variety of counseling options including: individual, group, activity therapy, and family sessions. These clients suffered from a number of disorders ranging from Bipolar, Schizophrenia, PTSD, ADHD, Major Depression, Borderline, Anorexia, Anti-social, and Substance-Abuse. My focus while working at the hospital was with children and adolescents who were experiencing extreme mental difficulties both at home and school. While serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault I offer individual, group, psycho-educational, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for complex PTSD. I currently serve both men and women ages 5 and up. My therapeutic approach stems from several disciplines including: Client-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Solution Focused Therapy. My role as the clinician is not to tell people what they should do or even offer advice. I trust all of my clients to be experts in what is truly best for them. My job is to create a safe, judge free space where therapeutic change can occur. It is through team work where I challenge clients to separate the mental health concern from their identity in hopes to receive true healing, peace, and confidence to thrive.
