About me

Hello, my name is Buddy Duncan. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for well over twenty years. In my private practice I have worked with many individuals in crisis and transition. I began years ago working with those struggling with addiction issues. I then transitioned to several years working with those with severe medical issues and chronic pain. I have functioned as a Marriage Counselor in all of these years and specialized the last decade with grief and loss issues. I taught psychology in college for multiple years and served as an academic advisor to college students. My practice has been varied yet I have consistently practiced as a cognitive behavioral therapist who believes each person has the ability to make choices and decisions that can empower their lives to move in the direction of their choosing. My experience has allowed me to witness an abundance of people overcome complex challenges and move forward in a positive manner through talk therapy by offering healthy options in a safe non judgmental environment.

Buddy has been an incredible source of support throughout the past few years I have worked with him. His ability to guide me through some of the most difficult and confusing times in my life has been invaluable. What sets him apart is his understanding of my problems I bring to our sessions and his skill in providing relevant suggestions, whether it's recommending books or articles to read, or helping me formulate a plan for the next steps or sending me thoughtful text messages that I can revisit in moments when I need to hear a voice of wisdom.

What truly impresses me is his remarkable memory and consistency. Even when I return for a session after a year, he recalls the details of our previous conversations, making it feel like we can pick up right where we left off. This level of continuity in our therapy has been instrumental in my progress and growth.

I consistently choose to return to him for therapy sessions because I trust his guidance. I can't recommend his services highly enough. If you're looking for a therapist who combines expertise with a genuine commitment to your success, look no further.

Buddy has made me feel comfortable from day one. He has been able to relate to were I am and recommend materials with exercises that resonate with me. I feel confident that with the support Buddy offers I can get back on track and where I feel I am doing life better again.

Buddy has been there for the past 3 years. He’s been a colleague, counselor, and friend. I like that he is a Christian Counselor for it helps me redirect my attention on God and knowing that He have the answers I seek. I’ve lost relationships, friends to death, my dad to death last year and Buddy was always willing to pray and correct my thinking and encourage my spirit. I’m am thankful that our paths met on BetterHelp! I wish him the best in all his endeavors as he enters into a new chapter his life and I in mines. Here’s to God helping us all through.
