"Psychology reveals, God heals." ~ Dr. Marilyn Meberg
This has been a favorite quote of mine for as long as I have been a therapist. I went to a Christian University for my masters degree in counseling with the belief that we are our best selves when we allow God to be at the center of our lives. I also believe that the field of psychology has a lot of wisdom in understanding our God given minds, personalities, emotions, and behaviors. Therefore, when the two meet, you have the ultimate opportunity for healing and redemption.
I have 9 years of experience in the field of mental health counseling. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship, self-esteem and confidence issues. I also have extensive experience working with couples and families, especially in regards to parenting difficulties such as acting out children, co-parenting disagreements and conflicts, and family divorce and transition.
My style of counseling is very centered around you, my client. You know you best! When you reach out to me, I can guarantee that you will feel heard and validated about your needs. From here, we can set goals together about how you would like things to be different in your life. I like using a lot of different techniques that have been proven to work, especially for depression and anxiety, including cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. In addition to my training, I believe as a therapist that talking through some of your struggles you will gain fresh insight into your life that will point you closer to God.
I am excited for you to begin this journey of grace, discovering who God uniquely created you to be. Regardless of who you choose to work with, I pray that you would find this a refreshing time that helps you draw closer to Him.

My counselor is very good at simply asking questions for now I'm trying to get her information and gain insight into my life. The last counselor I tried from a different company just wanted to give me tasks that weren't helping me at all nor did she ever look in on what I was doing. Carolyn also goes over what we talked about for the session what we discussed to do going forward and clarifies everything to make sure she and I are on the same page. Although we have only have two sessions, so far believe that she will be able to help me long term.
