About me
Greetings,
I have been a Christian since I was a little girl and helped my mother study her Sunday school lessons. During my twenties I started doubting God and his promises and got myself into quite a bit of trouble. In my thirties, with the help of a wonderful church and pastor, I returned to God and my faith was renewed. Since then, as my faith has deepened, God has blessed me with many opportunities to use my counseling skills to help other Christians discover how their faith can provide the strength and the answers that they need to live life to the fullest.
I have been privileged to serve as a counselor to individuals and families for over thirty-five years and have worked with people of different ages, races, nationalities, and gender preferences. Over the years I have worked primarily in mental health, family guidance, and rehab clinics. I also have had a private practice for over 12 years. People have entered counseling with me for a great variety of problems: stress, depression, anxiety, depression, anger, grief, loss, addictions and painful relationships. Some have suffered from serious mental illness; others are facing one of life’s many difficult situations and would like some guidance.
As far as education, I have a doctorate in counseling and am a licensed master social worker and licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Texas. I have studied many different modalities of therapy and have incorporated those that work best for my clients into my practice. This allows me to focus on the individual in front of me (or on screen) and work with them in a way that respects their values and preferred pathways to change. Most people who work with me find me to be supportive, encouraging, honest, and insightful. They succeed in accomplishing the goals that they set for themselves and begin to live a life they enjoy. I hope that you will contact me and discover for yourself that these things are true.
