About me

My name is Carolyn Elaine Smith. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensed in the state of Georgia with 11 years of experience. My theoretical approach includes a Client-centered base along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. These modalities have worked together to help clients uproot hidden issues that may be causing irrational thinking and behavioral problems. My mission is to educate clients as well as counsel clients on how to live a more quality life and to learn how to identify triggers and use coping mechanisms to manage problems on their own. I have worked with clients experiencing depression, low self-esteem, grief and suffering, terminal illness diagnoses, and relationship issues. I believe in God and the power of prayer for whole-person recovery. However, my religious beliefs are only shared when requested by the client. I respect and empower clients to identify a support system including myself to help them reach their identified goals.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Carolyn Smith. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Carolyn Smith is a kind soul. Her concern for me exceeds the dedicated time in session. It is always obvious that she has been giving much thought to me and my situation long after the session ends. She listens to understand, and she understands she needs to listen. I always feel heard and respected and never judged. My entire family benefits from the service she provides to me.

Carolyn is a wonderful, God-ordained counselor. Her invitation to pray at the beginning of the session and end of the session, inviting God to lead her in counseling is very welcoming and needed, and I'm grateful she does this. You leave her sessions better than when you entered them, with a powerful connection to the Holy Spirit. I value and highly recommend, Carolyn! Thank you for your service and for all that you do!
