Hi and welcome! My name is Chami (Chay-me) Kane, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Mississippi. I have been working with families, individuals, and kids for the last twenty years, and I have a masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary and a Specialist in Counseling Education from Mississippi State University. I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, schools, and mental health agencies.
I have personally struggled for years with infertility and battled cancer twice, and I believe that our trials can surprise us with blessings we did not expect. I believe my battles helped give me become a better counselor and empathize with and care for those who are hurting on a different level than before. I also am prayerful about each session, and I love to bring in Scripture and Biblical examples as the Lord leads.
My counseling style is warm and encouraging and a place where you can share hard things and still feel accepted. I use a variety of approaches including cognitive behavioral, rational emotive, and solution-focused, but it is tailored to meet your needs and help accomplish your goals for therapy.
You have already done one of the hardest things, which is taking that first step and reaching out! I look forward to learning more about you and walking through this together.

Chami is an amazing listener and encourager. I really can't say enough good things about her and how well our sessions are going. I've gone to a lot of counselors and she is by far one of the best ones I've been to. I can be completely honest about my struggles without feeling judged by her. She accepts me where I'm at and helps me see my potential as well as what I'm currently doing well. I've already learned so much about myself as well as tools to navigate thoughts and feelings I've struggled with for a long time.
