Cherie Trentini

About Me

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, who has experience working with both individuals and couples. I utilize an integrative Christian approach to therapy by drawing on training and clinical experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). My areas of expertise include practicing from a Christian perspective, treating depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, sexual trauma and pregnancy related issues. I have found that meeting people where they are in their walk with Christ and incorporating it into counseling helps tremendously with seeing progress and healing throughout the process.

I am passionate about working with individuals, couples and families. I believe that providing clients with a safe, secure and empathetic environment is the first step in the healing process. I aim to help individual clients work though their challenges in ways that create new and positive experiences that lead to real change and wholeness in their lives. As a marriage therapist, I look to support couples in improving communication, reestablishing respect, restoring trust and strengthening their connection as a couple.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, where I also enjoyed studying Theology and integrating Christianity into my counseling practice. I take pride in being a Christian counselor because I enjoy engaging people to discover their strengths while also empowering them to live their life with passion and purpose. As Christ said, "I came that you may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10.

Cherie has been very helpful. She is always sure to address how I must feel instead of just jumping right into advice which is what I need. She does a great job and making me feel heard and she offers very detailed advice that’s specific to my situation. She has been a great counselor and I will continue to ask for her help for a long time.

Cherie is an incredible counselor! She helped support my husband and I during the biggest trials we’ve experienced. She is kind, listens, and responds with knowledge and grace. I can’t recommend her enough! Our marriage is now on the mend and we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. God blessed us with our time with her even when we were at our worst.
