About me

As far back as I can remember, I have always loved connecting with others and have an innate desire to support and help people navigate this often very challenging life journey. Most people who have spent time with me and have gotten to know me, describe me as down to earth and good at making others feel safe and at ease. The very first time I took a psychology class, I began to experience a sense of enlightenment about myself and those around me. My intention is always to bring this same light and clarity to those I work with. I work through acceptance, mindfulness, and awareness and restructuring of our thought patterns.

I believe in the power of healing through our partnership in the therapeutic relationship and through the telling of your life story. I help you make connections, explore early and current attachments and become empowered to face experiences that you may have buried in order to avoid the pain of it all.

Over the last decade as a counselor, I feel honored and blessed that many have let me into the most private and vulnerable parts of themselves in their efforts to heal and change from the patterns they feel stuck in. I work to help people in their journey to become free from shame, fear and insecurities that cause them to feel trapped in life and relationships. I work with individuals struggling with codependency and boundary issues, those experiencing trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression and life transitions.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in counseling and I am a practicing Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I look forward to working with you!

Cheryl is insightful and caring. I have learned and grown so much in the last few months with her. She has helped me see other perspectives and view points that I don’t naturally tend towards. She has pointed me to Christ and empowered me to live each day more freely than the last.
