About me

It is with great pride and humility that I come to you prepared to listen and talk so together we can work for you TO BE YOUR BEST SELF AND WHOM YOU ARE CREATED TO BE!
My name is Chinwe Matilda Nzerue-Obi and I am Licensed as a Professional Counselor by the Texas Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. I got my Masters Degree from University of Houston Victoria, Texas. Prior to this, I was an Attorney from Nigeria: having graduated from The Counsel of Legal Education, Victoria Island Lagos and with a Law degree from University of Jos. I am also a Certified Christian Counselor for the benefit of clients who draw strength from their faith.
For Interventions, my theoretical approach is Solution Focused Brief Therapy because I believe that when people “need help, help can not wait”. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help keep the mind and body whole. I have been privileged to help near school drop outs get back into school, stay in school, and graduate; helped couples at the brink of divorce save their marriage; worked with and helped people of all ages overcome – Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Substance use/abuse, Parenting and Relationship issues among others. I hold a Multicultural Counseling Certification and a Real Estate License too; all these have enhanced my ability to work across ages, cultures and countries. No matter what the issue is, you too can be helped.
I believe that with determination and the will for a better life we will help you BE THE BEST YOU ARE CREATED TO BE and enjoy your best life!

I’ve needed a therapist who can understand me not just through the experiences that i’m dealing with in life but also someone who could culturally understand me and I am so blessed to have found her. She has really helped me change areas in my life that i struggled with on my own and for that i am always thankful. It’s a continuous healing journey and im happy i was placed in her care.
