Hello there-- you made it! Thank you for taking the first step in contacting me!
Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming to seek help and it can be even more overwhelming when we fear that we will be judged based on our religious beliefs or when we run into counselors who might be out of alignment with the values we most deeply hold.
I am a bilingual and bicultural Licensed Mental Health Counselor licensed in Florida with over 15 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I have worked around the world- in Mexico, in the US, in Germany, in Japan, and in US, and worked in a wide variety of settings, including extensive work in community mental health, substance abuse/addictions, child welfare, and with military and veteran populations. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including couples/relationship issues, anxiety, depression, immigration-related issues, abuse and trauma, divorce and separation, and grief and loss, among other things. I have also worked extensively with the Marine Corps in the area of force preservation and suicide prevention, and have worked with other branches of the service as well, both in the US and OCONUS. I also have a lot of experience and skills working with people of faith, who have strong values and beliefs, and am able to help you create a better life that will allow you to better live your values and beliefs.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I honestly believe we can work together to find solutions for almost any problem and that we can emerge from challenges stronger, and even more resilient. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, mindfulness training, and other techniques. I also have incorporated many things I have learned in my travels and interactions with psychology in other cultures and countries into my extensive training. I will tailor our interactions and treatment to help you meet your goals and work collaboratively with you every step along the way.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

I may have written the same feedback before but I have made more progress and improvement in managing panic, depression, and anxiety with Dr Gonzalez than with any other therapist or psychiatrist. She is so genuine, and easy to trust! I highly recommend her for anyone dealing these types of issues.
AMAZING! Dr. Gonzalez is so so helpful, she explains and suggests alternative ways to approach things, and is so helpful at giving me some insight and understanding. She shows genuine concern and wants to help and understand the best she can! honestly the best ever!
Dr. Gonzalez has helped me to grow even more as a person by understanding where I'm coming from and supporting me every step of the way. I'm glad I had her as my counselor.
Dr. Gonzalez is a good listener from my experience with her. I have had two sessions to date with her and we say goals for the first one and then went into the issues in the second one and picked on a specific one to discuss. She gave me a tool to start using to help combat the issue I discussed with her. I have yet to get to the part of experiencing her as a therapist in terms of helping me resolve these issues but I'm sure she is well capable to do these eventually for me as time progresses on. I would definitely recommend her to people I know, once I have seen my results.
She is very down to Earth. I feel Dr. Gonzalez truly cares about her patients.
