Jesus said, "I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another." John 13:34. As a mental health professional who comes from a liberal Lutheran background, the goal of loving those around me is a guiding principle. I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Minnesota as well as New Hampshire. I have been working in the field of mental health for over 30 years in a wide variety of situations. As a compassionate listener, my goal is for the people I work with to find a solution that works for them, rather than a "medically approved treatment plan." I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, family, and group therapy settings. In addition to being a Licensed Psychologist, I am a certified clinical trauma professional, and a certified telemental health provider.
There are several areas in which I have more extensive experience, including blended family struggles, veteran's concerns (including PTSD and trauma work), healthy sexuality, anxiety, and discovering one's life purpose. I use a variety of approaches to help the people I work with manage the intensity, frequency, and/or duration of what is problematic in their life, so they can get back to their life. I believe that therapy is a collaborative discussion in which everyone involved has a role in accomplishing the goal of moving forward with life.

Chuck has been an excellent help. He listens and understands what I'm talking about. He helps me come to conclusions that help me see the world in a better way. I'm a huge fan of Chuck.
Chuck has a calming way to him. He actively listens and asks the right questions. He gives great 'homework' that helps you understand your thought processes.
We have only had two sessions with Chuck but I have felt like it's been a big help in our marriage. Chuck is easy to talk to, even my husband can open up to him. He has great insight and is a great listener. He gives practical takeaways to each session and is easy to get a hold of if needed. We would recommend Chuck as a marriage counselor!
I have met with Chuck twice now and both times he has listened to my concerns and fears and shown empathy along with giving me tools to help deal with them in a practical way.
Chuck gives good examples of how story telling can be helpful and asks questions in a way that is respectful but also challenging in a good way.
