About Me

Hello, my name is Cicely Charlson, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Oklahoma. I graduated from Oral Roberts University with a (MA) in Christian Counseling. I have 10 years of experience working in the mental health field with individuals, couples and families in Christian counseling. I have worked in outpatient care as well as in-home. I have the most experience working with stress/anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma/abuse, anger management and life transitions. I have some experience with depression and mild autism. The modals of therapy I use are Christian Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma and Anger Management Therapy.

Life is an ongoing journey through different transitions and challenges. Sometimes we can manage on our own and other times we may need a little extra support. I want to help you navigate those challenging times in your life. We will work together so you can achieve more peace, mindfulness and clarity in decision making. I provide a safe space for individuals with no judgment of things said and done. Things in your life can cause stress such as shame, work, weak faith, finances, children, relationships and sex. I want to help you walk through those challenges and come out on the other side feeling empowered to handle current and future situations. My belief for counseling comes from my passion to help people grow because if you are not growing then you are not living; every living thing, God creates, grows and matures.

I became a part of the mental health field because I grew up in an angry household where my parents had a lack of communication and healthy coping skills and that trickled down to my siblings and I. How to strengthen my relationship with God, Communication and healthy coping skills are some things I had to learn in order to achieve peace and mindfulness in my life. I want to partner with you so you will feel empowered to have that in your life as well.

Cicely is great! I’ve been having weekly therapy sessions for around 4 1/2 months now. Probably closer to 5 months soon. She makes me feel heard, and I enjoy my sessions with her & always look forward to them. 10/10 would recommend her to others as well. Thank you for all you do with helping me, guiding me and listening.
