About me

Hello, my name is Cicely Charlson, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Oklahoma. I have 11 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in outpatient care as well as in-home. I have the most experience working with stress/anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma/abuse, anger management and life transitions. I have some experience with depression and mild autism. The modals of therapy I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma and Anger Management Therapy.

Life is an ongoing journey through different transitions and challenges. Sometimes we can manage on our own and other times we may need a little extra support. I want to help you navigate those challenging times in your life. We will work together so you can achieve more peace, mindfulness and clarity in decision making. My belief for counseling comes from my passion to help people grow because if you are not growing then you are not living; every living thing grows and matures.

I became a part of the mental health field because I grew up in an angry household where there was a lack of communication and healthy coping skills. Communication and healthy coping skills are some things I had to learn in order to achieve peace and mindfulness in my life. I want to partner with you so you will feel empowered to have that in your life as well.

Cicely is an amazing listener. I have had two sessions with her at this point and I have made more progress than I have in years of trying with other therapists. She is absolutely amazing.

Cicely is amazing! She’s what I have really been looking for in a therapist. She fully listens to all my issues and helps me look at ways to solve and tackle them. She is kind and not condescending at all

I would recommend Cicely to others.

I have loved working with Cicely. I didn't realize that a roadblock in my past therapy was that my former therapists coddled me quite a bit. Cicely challenges me to look at things in a very different manner than what comes naturally. She also pushes me to find authenticity in my interactions with others, and has encouraged me to be a better friend to myself. I would recommend her to anyone, but most especially to anyone who is also living through life as a Black woman in the U.S.
