About me

I have been working as a Marriage and Family therapist since 2010. I was licensed in New Mexico for most of my career, but transferred to Washington state in 2016. I have worked with individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds and income levels and even served as a crisis counselor for a detention center for several years. Depression, anxiety, family/relationship problems, parenting issues, substance abuse, and Bipolar Disorder are part of my regular case load. I also enjoy working with clients who just feel "stuck" and need some support to find their way forward in life. I have seen how the Lord can change hearts and lives through small and simple means.

I have a firm belief in our Savior and the power of His atoning sacrifice. There is peace and guidance to be found in scriptures as well as words of church leaders and other inspired individuals. While prayer and faith can go a long way, I believe that we are also asked to help ourselves and do our part to enhance healing and stability in our lives. As we work with God to determine the best course of action for our lives, we will find strength and inspiration to overcome the most challenging trials.

I try to keep my sessions friendly and welcoming. I enjoy humor and feel that it is a healthy coping skill to be utilized. Every problem has a solution waiting to be found and my goal is to help clients find their own unique solutions to life's most complicated issues. My practice includes cognitive behavioral approaches as well as mindfulness and solution focused therapy. I treat individuals as unique cases and avoid lumping people into categories. You are the expert in your life. My job is to help you see options that may have been missed and help you move forward.

Therapy can be an intimidating process. My goal is to make it comfortable, helpful, and maybe even a little fun.

I’ve been very impressed with Faithful Counseling in general and Cindy Johnson has been such a blessing. She has a way of targeting what’s bothering me before I consciously do. It’s been wonderful having someone to talk to and give great feedback. Thank you.

I feel that I can share pretty much anything with Cindy and she gets it. It’s easy for me to connect with her and I have grown and learned through her guidance. She is wise.

Very kind and on top of it. She allows me to work on what I need to work on and does a great job of integrating faith based coping skills into her sessions.

Cindy has spent almost a full year working with me, and has been a transformative force in my life. I owe her so much gratitude. Through my depression, mania, rage, and utter insanity, she listened, cared, and guided me through to a better place. I feel ok for the first time in years.

I have received so much benefit from working with Cindy. She is kind and encouraging while also offering fresh and new perspective. Her love for the Lord is clearly seen. I have been so thankful for her Biblical and Spiritual insight as I have begun to work through family conflict and life changes.

I've not worked with Cindy for long, but she was able to jump right in to my story and help me pull out some great truths to work with. She has a wealth of knowledge that is perfectly applicable to my situation (before I even know I needed the knowledge). I greatly appreciate her ability to provide super-practical steps to work through issues I'm facing.
