Dr. Daniella Jackson

(PhD, LMHC)

About Me

I have been a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida for the past 5 years, and I currently hold a PhD in Psychology. I have worked with adolescents, their families, and adults with addiction and dual disorders for the past 17 years. Twelve out these 17 years of experience, I have worked directly with adults with addiction, anger management, and self-management problems. Helping individuals who are struggling with addiction problems (i.e., alcohol, illicit substances, medication abuse, gambling, technology) has been the center of my work. I have also worked with the family members of individuals who were dealing with different addictions. I understand that the impact of a loved one's addiction problems can be very overwhelming, and at times, too much to handle. For this reason, helping the family members of individuals with addiction problems has also been one of my greatest passions. The impact that stems from various types of addiction includes, but are not limited to: grief and loss, feelings of powerless, depression, anxiety, and much more. If you are ready to regain control over your life, whether you are directly suffering from addiction problems or you have been impacted by someone else's addiction, I would like to assist you in instilling hope back into your life.

In addition to using spiritual principles of love, compassion, hope, faith, and forgiveness, my approach also includes cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, Rogerian, and positive psychology techniques.

On a more personal note, I am originally from Brazil; however, I have been in the US for the past 24 years. I am currently a proud American citizen. I enjoy meditation and walking, and I love animals. Additionally, helping others has been among my greatest passions. So, I absolutely look forward to working with you.

I never believed in counseling/therapy. I tried a different therapist on this very platform and was certain it just didn’t work. Until I met Dr Jackson. She’s a household name now for me and I so appreciate her help and guidance. I am a much better person because of it.

Dr. Jackson is absolutely amazing! She really listens to your wants, fears, needs and desires. She wants what’s the very best for you, and it’s evident in every session. You could not find a better counselor. I’d recommend her to anyone! She’s the best!

Dr. Jackson is the best counselor I've had yet. She really understands what I'm talking about and gives me great advice. She always leaves me with something to ponder and is very patient.

Dr. Jackson is very encouraging and has a great way of seeing the positive in me when I seem to only focus on the negative. She picks up on things I am sensitive about and discusses them in a way that respects my dignity. She is just as committed to my success as I am, which makes me feel like she really cares. I enjoy our conversations a lot and I always feel inspired by the end of them.

She is a great listener and really hears me. She always has helpful suggestions that are practical and manageable. I love it that her approach is more natural and basic rather than drastic, and her Christian perspective matches mine.
