Life can be difficult, even for people who trust in God. Faith does not make us immune to pain or sadness, but it can provide resources to help us make it through even the darkest times. I humbly consider it a great honor and blessing to be able to make a positive difference in the lives of people in their journey of faith--regardless of where they are in that journey--by providing hope, understanding, insight, and encouragement. I have had a wide range of experience providing counseling in a variety of settings. I have worked in churches. I have also worked in a behavioral health hospital, in a community mental health center, in private practice, and in a non-profit organization. I have worked in trauma counseling, case management, general mental health counseling, and counseling for people with more severe mental illnesses. I have assisted teens with substance abuse issues. I have provided many types of counseling such as individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, marriage counseling, and grief counseling. I enjoy working with all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds. Even in settings where I have not been able to discuss my personal beliefs, I have found that my faith has given me the strength to be able to see people at their worst and still be able to maintain a sense that there is somehow a purpose at work in it all. My faith helps me to see the positive qualities in people, even when they can't see it themselves. Many people have said that they feel comfortable with my counseling approach, in which I seek to be flexible and open-minded to the needs of each individual client. I will seek to listen and understand without judgment or faultfinding. I will not always tell you exactly what I think you should do, but I will be honest and compassionate as I guide you in your journey so that you begin to find your own way, with God's help.

I’m thankful for Daryl! His counsel and advice has been crucial to my recovery from addiction. God used him in my deliverance and recovery in a mighty way and because of that and God delivering me, I’m 4 months sober. I give all the glory to Him but I also want to give credit where it’s due and so I’m thankful for Daryl.
