Hello! My name is DaVaughn Jackson. Choosing to embark on the path of change can be quite terrifying to some, especially the first time clients, but YOU are ready to embrace the process and do the necessary work with the help of the Lord... KUDOS!!
I'm a Christian for over 20 years and an active member in my church in the helping ministry. Although I've primarily worked in the secular field as a co-occurring psychotherapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri, for over 20 years of community mental health treatment experience with a variety of issues including Substance Addictions, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, trauma, abuse, crisis and self injurious behaviors.
I'm passionate about forging a new biblical counseling approach to my counseling work this year; as I've completed a 32 hour biblical counseling course from Springfield Center of Biblical Counseling! I strongly believe Philippians 4:13, "I can do ALL things through Christ that strengthens me! As Christians we are instructed to come alongside, hear the need, use God's Word to help a person change (Col 1:28-29, 3:16). I know that Jesus is the Answer and his word is sufficient for all manners of this life (2 Tim. 3:16-17)! I'm excited and humbled to embark on the Lord using me to pour into the lives of fellow Christians with the Word of God. I will primarily utilize the bible in sessions, but can also use secular models if preferred such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, psychoeducation, risk assessment and mindfulness to help you become the person God created for you to be.
If we’re going to work together, let me explain my response time and availability. I have twenty, 30 minute sessions Monday-Friday set 8:00am-5:00pm. We can meet via live text, audio or video sessions once per week for 30 minutes for the initial session then up to 50 minutes thereafter. Anything further would be at additional cost to you.
Praying your strength in the Lord!
