About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina and Texas with over 15 years of counseling experience working with clients ages 9 to 65 and older. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, anger, addiction, trauma, grief/loss, relationship/family, self-esteem, spiritual, and adjustment challenges. I have also worked with clients from various cultures, states, backgrounds, and socio-economic statuses. I have extensive experience in all levels of care in various settings, such as crisis stabilization/inpatient hospital, outpatient/intensive outpatient clinic, women and children residential, home-based, school, church, and correctional/probation settings. I also proudly served our courageous military veterans and their families for several years.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in the Unconditional Love of Christ, the Word of God, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. The fruits (Gal. 5:22-23) and the gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor. 12-14) are critical and advantageous qualities that make the counseling experience beyond rewarding and powerful. The Word of God brings conviction, correction, and it teaches us how to live right (2 Tim. 3:16), but it should never be used to shame or condemn another. Laughter is good medicine to the soul, so when appropriate, I love to share this gift of joy with you in our sessions (Prov. 17:22). I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, because I firmly believe if you change your thinking, you can successfully change your life.
I want to personally thank you for taking this initial step toward positive change. It takes humility to ask for help. As a fellow Believer, it is my personal duty to comfort, build up, strengthen, and encourage my fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
I look forward to starting this chapter of your spiritual journey with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Davida Thompson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Faithful Counseling might be different.
Davida has been a blessing in my life and has helped me heal in various ways. I have learned a lot about myself and how God sees me through her. I would recommend her to anyone who is thinking about booking a counseling session with her.
