I am a licensed clinical social worker/therapist in the State of Maryland with 7 years of experience. The majority of my experience has been working with Anxiety Disorders and Stress, Depression, Codependency and Coping with Life Changes. I am highly empathetic, a strong active listener and am passionate about empowering my clients to overcome and resolve their problems, needs and concerns.
I am a devout Christian and grew up in a Charismatic/Pentecostal background but currently identify as non-denominational. My approach as a Christian faith-based counselor is to blend spiritual/biblical truths with traditional clinical counseling. I use the Bible as a guide in my treatment such as referencing scriptures that are relevant to your situation. I pray for my clients as needed, both inside and outside of sessions and I rely on the Holy Spirit for divine wisdom and insight for my clients. I am a firm believer that Jesus wants you to live a life of freedom and wholeness in every area.
The clinical treatment interventions I use is Psycho-dynamic theory to help you understand how your early life experiences have impacted you as an adult and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you understand the relationship between your thoughts, emotions and behavior. I also use Solution Focused approach and give you practical tools and strategies to help you achieve your treatment goals.
I am excited that you are making the decision to engage in therapy and I look forward to working with you!
