About Me

I was trained at a seminary with a dual-masters in theology and counseling, something I now see the full value of after having been a therapist for over 16 years. The practical application of helping people to transform their lives is tied to their core values and beliefs, so being able to use Biblical techniques to help my clients achieve their goals has helped me assist people quickly and effectively throughout my years of practicing. I have had the privilege to serve a very wide demographic of individuals and groups as an owner of a private practice, in pastoral ministry for 15 years, and as well as an executive coach. While an owner of a private practice, I trained in many areas of specialty, so I could provide the best quality therapy for anyone that was introduced to our clinic. I have worked with pastors, missionaries, community leaders and non-profit organization leaders extensively, and I am familiar with the needs of this unique demographic. My areas of specialties for all populations include PTSD, Sexual Abuse Recovery, Depression, Anxiety, Couples Therapy and Relationship Issues, Spiritual Issues, Parenting Issues, Step-family and Adoption Issues, Grief and Loss, Sexual Issues and Dysfunction, Self-harm and Eating Disorders, Mediation, Career Counseling and Life Coaching.
I thoroughly enjoy what I do, and consider it a privilege to walk alongside someone through sometimes the most difficult time in their life. It is an honor to be trusted to encourage and provide tools to help people transform their lives. Both reactive therapy (helping people recover and thrive in life) and proactive coaching (helping people achieve their goals) are enjoyable for me, so no matter what your goals are, if you feel I am a fit for you, I will do my best to help you achieve those goals as quickly as possible. I work from a brief therapy model, but will extend the treatment plan as agreed and needed if other issues present.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you move forward from a place of feeling "stuck" to achieving wellness. Let's get started!

Debra goes right to the heart of the issue, skipping over what can feel like big things to what is the underlying heart issue. I like her no nonsense approach and compassionate responses.

Debra is a very kind and understanding person and has been the perfect option for my needs right now. When I struggle, she is quick to respond and help me through, but when I’m not struggling, she gives me room to grow on my own.

Debra is an excellent counselor! She responds quickly, asks really good questions and shares meaningful insights. I chose FaithfulCounseling because I wanted to work through my issues with a Christian counselor. Debra has years of experience in church ministry and the wisdom that comes with that is evident. She is easy to talk to and has a gift for listening well and getting to the heart of an issue. I’m very grateful to be working with Debra and would highly recommend her as a counselor.
