About Me

I am a born again Christian and a licensed clinical social worker and a certified sex therapist in the state of Florida. I became a Christian on November 12, 2000. Knowing and following Jesus changed the trajectory of my life. Since then, I have mostly attended Southern Baptist churches, but for the last few years I have attended a small charismatic, spirit-filled church. My faith in Jesus Christ influences my behavior, thoughts, emotions, and choices, however, I do not believe in imposing my beliefs on anyone.

I will graduate with my doctor of social work in May 2021 from Florida Atlantic University. I have over 10 years experience working as a therapist in multiple contexts.
For eight years, I worked in substance abuse treatment which included voluntary clients as well as clients involved in the legal system with various governmental agencies, such as drug court, Department of Children and Families, Department of Corrections, and CORE Probation. I also operated a private practice focusing on sex therapy. For the last 2 and a half years, I have practiced as a clinical oncology social worker at a cancer center, where I still work part time. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, addictions, 12 step recovery, substance abuse, religious conflicts, legal challenges, family of origin problems, abuse and trauma, PTSD, attachment injuries, terminal illness, cancer, caregiving, codependency, and sexual problems.

My counseling style is client-centered, warm, and relational. I believe in every human's right to self-determination. I will expose you to many options and ideas; I will never impose my beliefs or choices upon you. I will respect you and hold space for you as you journey in search of purpose, meaning, and clarity. My therapeutic approach integrates psychodynamic, existential, family systems, interpersonal, and experiential theoretical frameworks. I will tailor my treatment approach to meet your unique needs and goals.

I admire people who seek help. It takes a lot of courage to recognize that changes must be made to lead a happier and more joyful life. Life is precious and short. It is an honor to be invited to walk on the path with another as they search, explore, unravel, and re-construct the life they want to live.

I look forward to walking on your journey with you.
