Hi. My name is Elizabeth and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I am also a certified school counselor and currently work as a counselor at a high school. I have been working as a counselor for 6 years, primarily in the school setting. I have helped my students with issues such as family problems, academic struggles, relationship issues, trauma/abuse, ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, grief, and suicidal ideation.
Most of my experience is with adolescents, but I also feel comfortable and have experience working with adults. I have been a counselor on Better Help for a year now and have loved seeing my clients improve their mental health. I feel comfortable counseling people from a variety of backgrounds, especially those whose backgrounds are different than my own. My entire professional career has been spent with a primarily Hispanic population, but I am comfortable with other cultures, as well.
I am a big fan of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Solutions-focused therapy, but I try to cater my counseling to each client, so I often incorporate different counseling philosophies as needed. As a school counselor, I have many duties not related to counseling. I joined Better Help, so I could use my counseling skills to help more people. I am looking forward to meeting with clients and working together to improve their mental health. I also know how hard it can be to find a time to meet with a counselor, so I offer after-work sessions, for your convenience.
I believe my clients are the experts on their own lives and I want to work with them to improve their contentment, coping skills, and mental health. I believe it is very important and beneficial to have a nonjudgmental, unbiased person to talk to. This is one of the best parts of counseling. I often use humor to lighten the mood when counseling. I find this helps grow my relationships with my clients. Congratulations on making the first step towards counseling by checking out this website. I would love to work with you.
I am not a Christian counselor, but I am a counselor who is a Christian. I believe all my clients are valuable and made in the image of God and treat everyone with respect. I do not bring up religion unless my client does. If my client is a Christian, then I am very open to counseling from a Christian worldview and help the client with both faith-based and non faith-based issues.

Elizabeth has been great! She listens to everything I have to say and then responds with care and empathy. I love how up front she is and how she doesn’t sugar coat. It’s definitely what I need.
Elizabeth has been the best person for me to process this phase of my life with. She is great at listening and keeping me accountable in my progress. I am so thankful for my experience with her.
