Ellen Parkinson

About Me

Welcome! My approach is unique to each client and one that is committed to working together to ensure you accomplish your goals, when those goals are Christian. I have been a follower of Christ all my life. I believe a person's faith can help in overcoming obstacles, and I often will ask a person what their faith says regarding various subjects. My eclectic counseling style is comprised of many different theories, techniques, and evidence based practices. I have specialized training and experience working with CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Social Thinking, and Family Systems Therapy. After 20 years in the field I have developed a strong professional foundation focused on providing you with the skills to alleviate daily stressors and improve your life. You will have the opportunity to express yourself in a comfortable, safe, and non-judgmental environment. We will explore your personal goals and empower you to use the effective skills needed to manage your challenges. I do not judge you based on your religion.

No matter what your struggle, you don't have to do this alone. My tailored person-centered approach will help you feel secure as you navigate your own path, along with God. You and God are the expert on your life. I am merely a conduit for your own progress; offering experience, support, knowledge and feedback to empower you along the way. I very much look forward to working with you.

Ellen shared with me a personal experience that made me realize that there are a lot of people who rebound from circumstances more dire than mine.

Ellen has been very supportive, sincere, easy to talk to, encouraging & reassuring. This is my first time in any kind of counseling, it's going well & this is exactly what I've been needing.

I am so glad to be working with Ellen. She listens and offers wise counsel. I know I am only at the beginning but I believe that with continued assistance from Ellen, I can work through some of the reasons for calling Faithful Counseling.

I’m very grateful for Faithful Counseling and Ellen Parkinson; I was in desperate need for talk therapy since being diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety and depression post auto accident but could not afford my regular therapist. The opportunity was presented to receive the therapy I needed at an affordable price. I also was blessed to be partnered with a therapist who has a strong spirit, faith and was able to guide me with affirmations and biblical guidance. I highly recommend them both

Ellen is a wonderful counselor. She listens, asks questions, provides good feedback, and makes recommendations. She is prompt to respond and I have full confidence in her training and experience. I am fairly picky when it comes to counselors and I had to try a few different ones before I found her. I highly recommend her.
