Welcome to FaihfulCounseling!
You may be wondering how this works and whether it would be right for you. My name is Jack Richey. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. I earned my Master of Social Work degree, specializing in Interpersonal Communication and Change, from the University of Iowa.
For many Christians, their faith is very important to them. I have utilized a very “faith friendly” counseling for years. There are several mental health verses in the Bible that can bring hope and encouragement to Christians. I try to help my clients to learn to use their faith as a tool in their quest for mental health and peace of mind.
I believe we can all grow through challenging experiences by increasing self-awareness. Sometimes another person who isn't directly involved can offer a new perspective. Having additional support can guide us through a difficult situation when we feel stuck.
We all want to be able to share our personal experiences, be accepted, and feel understood. I believe it's very important to be open-minded and non-judgmental when a person shares his or her personal story, questions, or experiences.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling life and a stronger Christian walk. Your life and your goals are important. If you are ready to take that step toward change, I am here to support, encourage, and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
