About me

Are you wondering how to choose a best fit therapist and curious about how counseling will help?
Let's see if my perspective sheds light:
-You want a counselor who is educated and experienced;
I hold a master’s degree in social work and have continued my education through relevant trainings. I have 25 years of work and life experience.
-You want someone credible; for over 20 years, I've been licensed to independently practice mental health counseling. I've met with hundreds of people of all ages, in various settings. I also life experiences that I have explored in my own counseling. I believe all therapists can benefit from their own counseling work. I see healing as a process throughout life.
-You want to know what to expect with online therapy; I deliver therapy the same way I do in-person, through the Better Help platform and you chose from the many communication options.
-You need to know how long this will take before you feel better; I help people who have symptoms of anxiety, depression, lack of motivation, substance misuse, acting out in ways that feel unhealthy, attachment problems, relationship issues and managing chronic stress. While there is no way to say exactly how many sessions you will need, many report feeling better after their first meeting, and that's motivating.
I weave in elements of mindfulness, nutrition, recreation, spirituality and quick strategies for immediate relief from emotional pain.
- Who helps with tech and payment issues? Betterhelp customer service is so helpful with details about your subscription.

Here is a bit more detail on why I may be a good fit for you:
I am compassionate, flexible and kind with a genuine, relational approach. Reliable and clear, I communicate when there are changes in scheduling. My clients say I am relatable, resourceful, inspirational, and bring a sense of humor to the humanity of struggle. I help people feel comfortable by reading messages and sending replies within hours. I work so you feel heard, understood, connected and supported. I also offer practical "tools" to improve your mood, relationships, work and capacity to make important life decisions.

I welcome you to meet with me or another Better Help counselor as you consider your next steps.
Be well and looking forward,
Una (Jamie Leavitt)

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Una (Jamie) Leavitt. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Jamie truly knows her way through "the maze", and if she doesn't, she's a great co-wanderer. She really gets life, and is so clearly passionate about supporting people through it. As she would say "She's so into what she does." I feel so blessed to work with someone who is so compassionate, experienced, and into helping people step into God's freedom.

Jamie and I have only just started meeting but I leave her sessions feeling like a new human. I am in awe of how perceptive she is and incredibly grateful for her care in helping me slow down, pause even, and process all the things we discuss. I am looking forward to continuing our work together and growing under her careful attention and expertise.
