Welcome! Thank you for reaching out and sharing information about yourself! I am excited about the opportunity to reach out to more people than ever before using BetterHelp, and I look forward to helping you achieve your mental health and life goals.
You have just made the first, brave move toward a heightened sense of peace, comfort and well-being. I am so happy you have stopped by to get to know and choose me!
My name is Jeanette and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider specializing in Nutritional Education for optimum Mind/Body health and well being. I believe that we do not just treat the mind but also the body as they work in tandem together and not as separate silos.
I have 23 years of experience in the mental health industry and have worked with adults and adolescents ages 16-80 with concerns about depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress that is rooted in some workplace environments, nutritional education as it relates to mind/mood, relationships, trauma, substance abuse and more! I find that most people have the answers to their concerns. Those answers have just been covered up but they remain deep down inside of you. My job is to help you uncover and shine a light on some of those answers. I will meet you right where you are in this process and address your most urgent needs as a priority. I will use an eclectic blend of evidence-based approaches and techniques to make sure our work is specifically catered to meet your needs.
We can identify your values and goals and examine behaviors that can help you achieve these goals or change unhelpful behaviors that may be getting in the way. My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, meaning I understand that traumas, such as childhood physical and sexual abuse, can leave lifelong emotional and psychological scars, and I understand how to treat trauma as an underlying factor to other issues that may be present.
I am well experienced in working with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship and family difficulties, substance abuse, life transitions, trauma, and severe and persistent mental illness. I have worked with a variety of populations including adults, children, geriatrics, families, and couples in outpatient mental health clinics, an inpatient substance abuse clinic, a primary care office, a high crisis community center, and an emergency room. I have experience and am comfortable working with a diverse range of individuals, people of color, all educational and socioeconomic backgrounds.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
