About Me

Aloha, my name is Jeannie and I am a licensed mental health therapist in Nebraska. I primarily work with those working to overcome trauma. This can present with anxiety, depression, feeling disconnected with oneself, and a number of unexplained physical concerns. I also work with those who feel "stuck" in life and could use some help creating practical goals to move forward.

I believe healing happens in authentic relationship. This means that I strive to be fully present with my clients and work to help them feel comfortable enough to be fully present with me, as well. I recognize that the first step to a better life is often the most difficult. I help my clients with that first step and the path that follows. Together, we develop individualized strategies that allow and promote forward movement.

I completed my master's degree in counseling at Denver Seminary. I also have a bachelor's degree in religion, which makes me uniquely qualified to combine spiritual and clinical insights in a way that anyone can understand. When requested, I provide spiritual integration into the counseling process. I believe our spiritual beliefs and wounds are tied to our physical and emotional well being. In addition to my training in the clinical world, I am experienced in a variety of "inner healing" techniques that incorporate prayer, scripture, forgiveness, and other spiritual interventions. My background has allowed me experience ministering to individuals from Wesleyan/Armenian, Calvinist, Charismatic, and Non-Denominational backgrounds. I welcome clients in every stage of relationship with God, even those who are angry with God or who are still searching for who/what they believe about God.

While I special in trauma work, I am also trained in Strengths Coaching. This training equipped me to identify behavioral patterns that point to a client's "go to" responses. These often point us to areas of current and potential strength and internal resources. My professional experience includes counseling and management in the field of mental health, working with mild to severe mental health issues, including survivors of ongoing abuse and human trafficking, business and individual coaching, and providing trauma education to community organizations. I welcome the opportunity to fight beside you to make a difference in yourself - and the world.

Jeannie helped me tons when I was experiencing tough depression and anxiety near the end of my college career. I couldn't have made it through without her guidance and help regarding unresolved self-esteem problems and correcting my thinking processes. I was nervous to begin counseling again but Jeannie made every session feel natural. Thank you Jeannie for all your help!

Jeannine is open minded, gets me to look at both view points. Gives me words of encouragement, while use knowledge/education to facilitate. She has opened my eyes to some of my ways, and I'm glad I'm making progress with her help!

Jeannie is doing a very nice job of touching base with me. She has responded to my requests and validated my feelings.
