I graduated with my Masters degree in Social Work in 2007. During my 1st internship at an inpatient psychiatric hospital in 2005, it was there I realized my passion, mental health. Subsequent to my internship, that same psychiatric hospital hired me. I dedicated 10 years to thousands of patients, loving every moment I helped someone achieve goals. The unit sadly closed, I continued to work in mental health, with the dual diagnosed population.
Currently, I work at an acute medical hospital, and have for 8 wonderful years, still loving what I do, helping! I continue to work in depth with mental health, substance, dual diagnosis, homelessness, death, dying, grief, crisis. I love my job and love what I do. I believe in client centered, solution focused therapy, which includes review of all areas of life - social, health, activities, spiritual, purpose. I am a strong advocate and encourage all my clients to do the best they can with the tools they have. I offer an empathetic, non judgmental listening ear and hope to teach effective tools to help others cope.
I believe I was able to get this far in life by the grace of God. I believe in prayer and the power of prayer and positive thinking, however, I also believe medical intervention and mental health intervention by a professional is often helpful as well.
