About me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with 20 years of experience in the counseling field. I have worked with individuals and families on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, grief and loss, and relationship issues. I use an interpersonal, relational approach in the counseling process with the goal of facilitating change through improved and enriched relationships.

I have experience in a variety of settings including hospitals, community mental health agencies, and call centers. My counseling approach draws influence from Person-Centered Therapy and Object Relations Therapy, and I also use Solution Focused Therapy for very specific needs or goals. I believe there is always hope for a better, more fulfilled life regardless of past circumstances or broken relationships.

The Lord has used John as an instrument for me to take back control of my life. He has helped me sort out and label buried emotions and feelings. He has been a guide in so many ways. He is a blessing for my life today. I’m forever grateful. Our God is awesome

John has been very helpful in helping me set realistic goals to understand and work through my grief. No loss is ever easy, but being able to talk to someone who understands that it's not easy has been helpful.
