About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with 9 years of experience working as a Christian counselor. I have worked with clients on a wide array of fronts including depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, family dynamics, relationship issues, OCD, and attention deficit disorder. I have also treated people with trauma as it relates to emotional, physical, and psychological abuse.

Education: I received a Bachelor's degree in Human Services in 2004 from Wayland Baptist University. I acquired a Master of Arts degree in counseling in 2009 also from WBU.

I use a person centered approach in my therapy style, facilitating counseling from a Christian perspective. I believe we all come to a point where life beckons some kind of change, or adjustment. My top priority is to provide a safe, and secure listening environment that shapes the boundaries of each and every appointment.

My treatment modalities involve motivational interviewing, short-focused brief therapy, Cognitive Behavior-Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and psychodynamic. I am flexible, and will tailor my counseling approaches into a collaborative care plan to treat your individual needs.

So far Jon has been great at listening to me, asking thought provoking questions that help me learn about myself and find solutions to problems. He’s been great at encouraging and empowering me, I leave our sessions with clarity, a sense of being uplifted in spirits, and ready for whats ahead rather than anxious.
