About Me

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California with over 12 years of combined unlicensed and licensed experience in the mental health field providing services for young children, adolescents, & adults.

Are you dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief & loss, school or work trouble? Maybe a unique challenge with a transition or goal in your life? You are not alone, and I am here for you. I’ll share with you that I have the unique experience of having faced and overcome traumatic experiences in war and in the loss of an infant son, and I know what it can be like to be on the other side of the therapy chair. I have also learned that in the darkest of times, there is a light that shines for you, and God is always standing by.

I pride myself in being a greater listener, a kid at heart, and a believer that life’s hardships can be opportunities for amazing growth. I think it is important to challenge and be real with my clients, while also respecting the beliefs and personal experiences that may influence their decisions. I integrate different aspects of Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Person-Centered, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy into my practice. Clients seeking to learn new coping and relaxation skills, task management and motivational enhancement, or to improve interpersonal and communication skills would be best suited for working with me.

A little more about me: I served as a soldier in the U.S. Army & CA Army National Guard from 2002-2009 and returned as a veteran of OIF III. I am bilingual in English & Spanish, and proud to have learned from and worked with clients from different cultures, religions, genders/sexual orientations, and socio-economic backgrounds. My top job is as a husband and father of two children, and I maintain my balance through my love for music, art, technology, nature, & spirituality.

I look forward to working with you, and can accommodate most schedules, including nights from 7pm to 10pm and weekends until 8pm. Best of luck in your therapy journey!

Jonathan has a wonderful manner and is easy to confide in. Both my husband and I appreciate his style, warmth and insight. We are glad we got to work with Jonathan and put what he has taught us into practice.

He really does a great job of helping me break things down and simplifying them. I tend to get REALLY overwhelmed, and simplifying things really helps.
