Hi, my name is Jody (Joseph) Frey and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in CO and MN. Thanks for reaching out and for wanting to learn more about me. I have been serving people for over 25 years in a variety of settings: military, business, and therapy. For the last seven years, I have been focusing on helping people resolve their trauma and am currently working on becoming a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) to better serve those struggling with a traumatic past. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point in Human Factor’s Engineering and a Master’s Degree from Argosy University in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Christian counseling is unique to each person’s faith. I bring a strong and mature yet growing faith into each session. We will work to understand how faith works in your life and then what factors might be hampering your faith. I will work to incorporate Biblical concepts and scriptures into each session as a method to build up your ability to handle the challenges of each day.
My therapy style has been developed from six years active duty as an Army Officer, 10 years in corporate leadership, 15 years running my own successful business, and seven years as a therapist helping others. My clients often enjoy my challenging and focused style and find comfort as we draw out their inner dialogue which is negatively impacting their current emotional state.
Outside of therapy, I love techie stuff and enjoy sports, working out, and playing video games.

Jody helped me learn strategies to cope with anxiety. We talked through specific examples in my life. He would help me figure out the root cause and suggest ways to help me deal with it. He helped my self esteem and would point me to God in every session. I really appreciated that! He's a wonderful counselor and is very easy to talk to.
I have been working with Jody for about a month now. He challenges me to become a better version of myself by reminding me who God says I am & gives me scripture to reflect on while at the same asking tough questions that require me to “sit down” as I like to call it & really dig deep behind the matter of my challenges. Jody never rushes my thoughts but instead listens & helps me to dissect them to get to the heart of the matter. He offers suggestions for books to read, scriptures to study, etc and for me I find that extremely helpful! Jody, you are doing work for the Lord & it really shows. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
