My name is Josh and I have been interested in counseling and psychology since I was 12 years old. I became more interested in counseling later in life when I visited my first Christian counselor and was helped greatly with my own questions about myself and about my life. I am a believer in counseling, primarily because it has helped me so much, and also because I have seen the way it has helped those around me. The Christian faith encourages us to walk in the light with one another. Most of our mental and emotional ailments come from our experiences with feeling stuck in darkness. We keep our secrets in the dark, we struggle alone in the dark, and we spend a great deal of time trying to figure out how to get out of dark situations, by ourselves. One of the best and most effective ways to do this is to trust someone else to bring light to the places where we may feel fear. Once we step into the light and share a situation that frightens us, we are no longer alone and we no longer have to be afraid of what was in the dark. Jesus was the greatest counselor and he encouraged people to talk and share with him the things that troubled them. Although it requires trust, there is nothing quite like feeling a burden role away as a result of being reminded that nothing is more powerful than God's love for us.
Truly, the process of talk therapy is nothing more than spending time with someone who cares and can offer clarity, hope, and unconditional acceptance when we feel like we have none. I enjoy helping people to see in ways that they could not before and to feel like they always have options, no matter the circumstance. I really look forward to joining you on your journey and helping you in any way that I can. In case you are interested, I have been trained in many modalities, including DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and PIT (Post Induction Therapy). I attended a faith based counseling school called The Seattle School of Counseling and Psychology. I have greatly enjoyed learning from other therapists such as Dan Allender PhD, Dan Siegel MD, Peter Levine MD, Bessel VanDerKolk MD, Stephen Porges MD, Alan Shore PhD and Pia Melody, to name a few. I am looking forward to meeting you and joining you on your journey!

Josh is a great counselor, he listens well and helps to direct me in finding a path to reaching goals. He provides great clinical skills while still providing faith based counseling.
