About me

I am a licensed professional counselor with a background in human services, education, and social work. I have worked with individuals struggling with the grief and loss of a loved one, domestic violence, trauma, diagnosed personality disorders, anxiety and depression, poverty and homelessness, human trafficking victims, and individuals experiencing chronic pain. Although my experiences are diverse, I have learned two overarching truths: human suffering is universal AND there is always hope.

My style of treatment is person-centered and eclectic. I know that "one-size-fits-all" is never true with mental health treatment. Each client has a unique story and therapeutic goals are developed cooperatively with that in mind. You are the expert on you. I am often described as a warm and empathetic listener, but I am also willing to provide reflective feedback during "stuck" moments in treatment.

If you are ready to move towards a path of healing, hope, and wholeness, contact me and we will begin this journey together.

Julie is patient and kind, and knows how to support and guide without leading. I appreciate her prompt responses, and always look forward to her perspective.

She is an amazing person. She responds in a timely manner, checks up on me and gives me words of encouragement to keel going forward. As a man of God, it was initially difficult to talk with somebody about my journey due to my past issues and trauma from church hurt. After meeting with her I came to understand that she too was Christian and really opened my eyes into believing that loving and true people of faith are still out there. Few of the christian therapists I had been with in the past were very condescending and made it a hard space for me to be vulnerable in. She was the exact opposite and is the sweetest and kindest person I've met. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for being the awesome person that you are Julie! :)

Julie is very responsive even outside our scheduled sessions. She understands the situation, sees the areas that needs to be worked on and provides practical exercise to help.

Ms. Julie asks simple questions, which, in my opinion, is best because I overcomplicate things so much. She helps to slow my thinking down and has me really concentrate on why I feel the way I do.

Julie is the most kind and wonderful person who really hears what you have to say. She is an exceptional communicator and truly makes you feel appreciated and understood. The tools she has helped me to develop over these past months have been life-changing, and I mean that in the most literal sense. Her insights are profound and clearly explained, and she helps you to see your blind spots or the less pleasant parts of yourself that you may struggle to understand or deal with. The only anti-anxiety medication that has ever worked for me is therapy with Julie, and I cannot recommend her enough.
