About Me

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in North Carolina, USA. I have over 6 years of experience as a licensed professional counselor and 10 years overall in the mental health field. Faith can be a powerful resource in dealing with obstacles to overcome in our lives. I have been privileged in working within inpatient, community based services, and outpatient settings. I have experience working with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, bipolar, history of trauma and/or abuse, conflict in family or relationships, ADHD, self-esteem, career, and parenting concerns.

My counseling style is eclectic, as I pull from many different counseling theories to create the best individualized plan for each person. I always use a person centered approach, where I value holding a nonjudgmental and caring space for us to work together towards your goals. Other counseling theories I may incorporate include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Theory, Erikson's Developmental Stages, Family Systems, Client Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Psychoanalytic. I have extended training in DBT, Gestalt, Motivational Interviewing, and Expressive Arts Therapy.

Choosing and reaching out to a therapist for the first time can be hard! You and your goals are worth it. I am here to support you if you are ready! God Bless!

I enjoy having Julie as my counselor. She listens to me and provides advice on how to deal with anxiety and mental health. She even gives exercises to keep calm when things get difficult.
