I am Kamara Lynn Marsh MA LPC CAADC ADS, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor as well as received my certification in Auricular Acupuncture. I received my Master’s degree in counseling from a Christian perspective with an emphasis in treatment of addictions from Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan. I completed my counseling internship at Hope Network Rehabilitation Services in East Lansing Michigan where I worked with individuals with traumatic brain injuries and received training in dealing with post-traumatic stress, grief and loss, depression, anxiety/panic, addictions, and re-entry/life change difficulties. I spent a decade facilitating substance abuse re-entry groups at three county jails and six years working for a district health department where I received training and experience in a variety of holistic approaches in the treatment of both mental health and substance abuse disorders. Over the past two decades, I have utilized a variety of clinical interventions including but not limited to: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Interventions, Art Therapy, Mindfulness, Auricular Acupuncture and Emotional Freedom Techniques. In 2007, I published a "faith-based" book I wrote and illustrated on overcoming loss in life. I ran my own private practice in East Lansing, Michigan for almost four years before relocating to Northern Michigan to direct a residential substance abuse facility.
