Kari Hidalgo

About Me

Welcome! My name is Kari Hidalgo and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in the state of California. I have been providing direct counseling services for over eight years and tele mental health services for over a year. I have worked with individuals, couples and families as they navigate different seasons of life. I have helped clients manage trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, stress, postpartum depression, difficult relationships and parenting challenges while encouraging, supporting, holding hope, exploring self care and helping them identify healthy boundaries. I am a Christian, which means I am always seeking and growing through my relationship with Jesus Christ and understand that a "walk of faith" can bring its own pain and challenges.

I have always loved listening to people’s stories and walking alongside them in their journey. I am passionate about helping individuals and families develop healthier, more positively connected relationships. As a wife and working mother of four, I am aware of how challenging it is to live a balanced, fulfilled life, therefore I find it incredibly rewarding to help all people, whatever they might be struggling with. I am also passionate about helping individuals as they approach different stages of life. I am trained in the Trauma and Community Resiliency Models and EMDR and often utilize Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness in my sessions. I desire to not only help those who have experienced significant trauma but also those dealing with everyday stressors, to find peace, joy and hope in this otherwise chaotic world.

Reaching out for help can be very scary. I am here to help in whatever way I can, but in particular to be a consistent, dedicated support as long as necessary.

Looking Forward, Kari

Kari has literally changed my life. I never feel unheard, invalidated, or like a burden. I have the comfort of knowing that I always have someone both fighting for me and holding my hand along this path. It’s so hard to break out from stigma and take hold of your life, but she’s showed me how worth it life can be when you fight for yourself instead of against. She has talked me down from the ledge, given me reality checks and tough love while still maintaining a spirit of warmth and comfort, and has been genuine and consistent from day 1. Love her!

Kari is absolutely amazing! I have a very busy life, and things can get a little crazy sometimes. It is great to have someone that understand exactly what I’m going through and can give great advice about how to face the challenges of life. Part of my New Year goal was to feel better about myself and the life I’m leading and Kari has definitely helped me get on the right path for my journey! She is very respectful, caring, and honest, and is very understanding.

I am very impressed reading about Kari Hidalgo and compassion fatigue that is mentioned is because I have a big heart and hard time with boundaries for long distance family members. When I am ready to start I will definitely consider her, as she appears very compassionate and kind, everything I have read about her and in her picture.

I’m very happy with the match with Kari. She seems like a caring therapist who really wants to help others. It’s been extremely helpful for me to have her insights and recommendations for coping, and for behavior change.
