About Me

Welcome!
You've come to the right place, because counseling is for everybody. We all need to check in with ourselves from time to time, and get feedback so that we aren’t just running on auto pilot. Opportunity is all around us, but taking some time and slowing down is essential to seeing that opportunity. I want to work with you and help you find your happiness.

My approach is simple: Work with what you have and try to focus your energy on your own development. This requires we make consistent steps each day, and engage in tracking, planning and organizing, as well as learning new ways of thinking. To find wellness we must stop focusing on other people and how they’ve harmed us, because we can't force other people to change.....or to give us validation. We can only find true peace from within. The external world will always be chaotic and not-ideal, and we need to learn to accept the way that it is and begin right where we are with an optimistic attitude! :)

I’ve worked in clinical settings and helped people with anxiety, depression, self image issues, relationship issues, grief and loss, panic attacks and disorders, posttraumatic stress related concerns, life transitions, multicultural issues, sexual identity development, and academic and career development. I have clinical experience with individuals, children, couples, families, and those struggling with substance-abuse. I’ve worked with severely mentally ill people and those living with schizophrenia spectrum disorders.

I received a Master's degree in 2012 and was fortunate enough to work closely with many counseling educators who were at the top of their field. My experience in graduate school helped prepare me for working with diverse issues, and I’m confident in my cultural and clinical competency. After earning the hours, supervision, and experience necessary I gained clinical licensure, which means I can supervise students, other mental health professionals and clinics.

With this platform, we’re not limited to weekly sessions-- you can write everyday which gives you a place to express yourself, and I'll be here to listen and provide valuable feedback. I'd love to learn more about what you've been struggling with as well as your goals, and how you would like life to change for the better.

Be well :)

Katharine has been amazing to work with! She listens, validates, and always has a suggestion or follow up question to help me continue my healing journey! She writes thorough and thoughtful replies, and never goes more than 24 hours without reaching out to me, even when I haven't. Her words are always genuine and caring, and you can just feel how much she cares about her clients and her role as a therapist every time we talk!
