I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 40 years of experience as a pastor and chaplain, including 15 years of work as a licensed counselor. Therapy offers the opportunity for personal exploration, insight and change to work through difficult times toward a healthy adjustment. I will work at your pace to address the issues you are facing and promote an improved quality of life. I have worked with many people who have experienced grief, depression, anxiety, troubled relationships and spiritual distress. In these times, a trained guide makes the difference in overcoming the obstacles and building a new life. I believe my breadth of experience, compassion, and insight will be useful in addressing your concerns.
I believe your spirituality provides a vital element in strengthening the work toward wellness. I work within each client’s unique spiritual perspective. My progressive Christian faith gives me hope in the love, goodness and redeeming power of God to work in every life.
Another helpful way to work together is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on both thought patterns and behaviors. Discovering new viewpoints, confronting actions that hinder our adjustment, and mastering new skills provide a powerful force to move us toward our goals. Hundreds of studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of this tool to bring positive change. As the need arises I may also utilize Acceptance Commitment Therapy or Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma.
Seeking help requires great courage. I hope you will take a step forward to find a new path toward a better life. Let's work together on it!

Larry is so kind and accepting. Very calm and patient.
I have never been through professional counseling before in my lifetime. However, Larry is the most amazing and well versed counselor in his profession. I would recommend him to anyone needing counseling.
Larry has helped me make strides in my personal life that wouldn't have been possible without his help and expertise. Through our sessions, I have learned to esteem myself in high regard, i've learned how to navigate life's challenges and have learned what normal is. He has helped me in more ways than I can count. I am so thankful for him.
Thank you for your help your feedback helps me get through my day easily
Larry is very prompt with his responses and very empathetic and caring in his responses. He also gives homework that helps me better myself.
A great counselor, it’s my first time and I was very nervous but he’s very understanding but also very informative. Highly recommend!!
Larry is awesome. He understands you, empathizes and even offers techniques to overcome the issues that you are dealing with.
Larry Payne is a caring and understanding counselor. He allows you to be where you are and he meets you there.... it is good to know there is someone who listens and guides you with wisdom and kindness. I would recommend him to anyone who wanted a great Christian Counselor.
I had been struggling to get started with counseling when I signed up for Faithful Counseling. I shared what my main concerns and reasons for wanting counseling were. Larry Payne responded promptly...and even though I ignored him (because I was anxious about starting), he persisted and let me know that he was praying for me and there if I needed to talk. I appreciated that. I have also appreciated his continued prompt responses.
Larry does a wonderful job of listening and meeting you with genuine empathy and understanding right where you are. I’ve appreciated his boldness in validating the hard things while gently offering insight into next steps toward a greater balance of health in the midst of those hard things. The practical approaches combined with//rooted in faith have been excellent.
He is a very diligent and skilled counselor and very much interested in helping his client actually fix there problems rather than just hearing them out.
