As a believer in Jesus I recognize He is the only one who truly heals. As we go through life and deal with various trials we are called to lean in to our faith and invite God in to our times of suffering (Psalm 34:18 The Lord draws near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit). God can and does redeem our pain and uses the "winter seasons" in our life to grow our faith, refine our character, and bring him glory. As a therapist, I try to hold in mind that each person I come in contact with is a beloved child of God and designed with unique gifts, circumstances, and community for a reason. My role is supporting the believer in deepening his or her understanding of how to leverage their life circumstances for God's kingdom.
