Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my profile. My faith is paramount to me in all that I do every day. I know that this is true for so many of the clients with whom I have had the privilege of working as an outpatient counselor over the years. I firmly believe that one's personal faith and belief systems are crucial in their approach to life's journey and the potential obstacles we can face in life. My goal in counseling is to assist you in identifying your strengths and utilizing them as you seek your way through difficulties that can confront us on our life's journey. Our similarities in our faith or beliefs is not important. Recognizing and accepting that our personal beliefs are important to the ability to achieve success in our journey is very important.
My theoretical approach to counseling is primarily an eclectic one focusing on an individuals unique needs and situation at the time. I believe in the importance of respect, sensitivity, compassion and always maintaining a nonjudgmental approach to counseling. The understanding and acceptance of people for who they are and their situation, and then tailoring a treatment approach that allows for personal growth and positive outcomes is fundamental in my role as your counselor.
I realize that taking this step to reach out and ask for help can be frightening and confusing. I congratulate you on taking this first step, and I look forward to working with you.

If you undertake to counsel with Linda Blackburn, I hope you are ready to have an advocate to help you deal with your issues, and reach your goals. Linda is very kind but does not shy away from difficult questions. She is a professional and a friend. I couldn't recommend her more.
